The Right Brain vs Left Brain test ... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?
If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa. Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.

Survivor Duck: 15 Years and 17,000 Miles Later (weirdasiannews)
The mass of yellow ducks, blue turtles, and green frogs broke free from a container in Pacific ocean due to bad weather 15 years ago.
The destination was supposed to be Tacoma, Washington but instead, they have traveled over 17,000 miles landing in Hawaii and have even been iced in the Arctic. Now they’re expected to be heading to South-West England.
The toys have greatly helped scientists in researching world ocean currents. You can easily recognize the toys with the faded white colors and a “The First Years Inc” stamp, which was who the toys were made for originally.

Man Loses House and Belongings on Boastful Bet
The ball is so amazing because all five balls can turn without touching each other.
It took less than six months for Sun Zheng, a young porcelain amateur from Luoyang city, to step up and challenge Xin’s public boast. Sun created the exact same ball and demanded his prize.
“At first he said my replica had internal noise. So I improved the technique, and created a perfect one. Then he said the procedure must have been different.”
So he took Xin to court. The court ruled that Xin’s TV pledge just the same as if he signed a contract, and ordered Xin to give up the house and belongings to Sun.

'I ate my roommate', says teen
Wednesday, August 29, 2007 United Kingdom
Police found half-eaten body parts on a plate
A teenager claims to have killed his room-mate then eaten parts of his brain and internal organs.
The 19-year-old, named only as Robert A, has confessed to murdering the 49-year-old man he met in a homeless shelter, it was reported.
Robert crushed his room-mate's skull with a 9kg iron bar before using a butcher's knife to remove his intestines. Officers found the body lying in a pool of blood, with body parts spread around the room and half-eaten on a plate in the kitchen.
The murder was discovered yesterday when a cleaner went into the shelter. Robert allegedly told her about the murder and asked her to contact the police, according to The Times.
The man, known as Joseph S, is thought to have been killed about three days ago and his body was found at the ground-floor, two-bedroom flat in Vienna where the two men lived alone.
A police investigator said: "We are supposed to be prepared for situations like this, but this surpasses the limits of imagination.”
Robert was placed at the shelter, which was set up to provide accommodation for mentally ill people living on the street, this month. His room-mate was registered there since June.

Uglies go to dungeon for free
A dungeon museum is offering visitors free entry – as long as they subject themselves to an ugliness test on arrival.
The Mingers Go Free event this weekend will see visitors pitch their looks against photos of celebrities deemed to have been beaten with the ugly stick, such as singer Marilyn Manson and Kelly Osbourne.
If they are judged to be uglier than the stars they will be given free entry to York Dungeon.
Manager Helen Douglas said she did not expect many people to pass the 'tongue-in-cheek' offer.

Crocodile Falls from 12th storey and SURVIVES!
Emergency services said the croc, called Khenar, tried to make his escape through a window.
Diving out of the window has become a habit for the crocodile with concerned neighbours saying it was the third time he had used that method to flee.
The crocodile lost one tooth in the latest fall but was otherwise unscathed, said a spokeswoman for the emergencies ministry in the Nizhny Novgorod region of central Russia.
"It seems the owner was not at home when the crocodile came out of the window," she said.
Emergency services put the crocodile in a local aquarium to recover from his fall.
Within a few hours his concerned owner came to pick him up and the crocodile was last seen lying on the back seat of his owner's car, Moskovsky Komsomolets daily reported.

The Cat Who Senses Death
By RAY HENRY, Associated Press Writer
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Oscar the cat seems to have an uncanny knack for predicting when nursing home patients are going to die, by curling up next to them during their final hours. His accuracy, observed in 25 cases, has led the staff to call family members once he has chosen someone. It usually means they have less than four hours to live.
"He doesn't make too many mistakes. He seems to understand when patients are about to die," said Dr. David Dosa in an interview. He describes the phenomenon in a poignant essay in Thursday's issue of the New England Journal of Medicine.
"Many family members take some solace from it. They appreciate the companionship that the cat provides for their dying loved one," said Dosa, a geriatrician and assistant professor of medicine at Brown University.
The 2-year-old feline was adopted as a kitten and grew up in a third-floor dementia unit at the Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The facility treats people with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease and other illnesses.
After about six months, the staff noticed Oscar would make his own rounds, just like the doctors and nurses. He'd sniff and observe patients, then sit beside people who would wind up dying in a few hours.
Dosa said Oscar seems to take his work seriously and is generally aloof. "This is not a cat that's friendly to people," he said.
Oscar is better at predicting death than the people who work there, said Dr. Joan Teno of Brown University, who treats patients at the nursing home and is an expert on care for the terminally ill
She was convinced of Oscar's talent when he made his 13th correct call. While observing one patient, Teno said she noticed the woman wasn't eating, was breathing with difficulty and that her legs had a bluish tinge, signs that often mean death is near.
Oscar wouldn't stay inside the room though, so Teno thought his streak was broken. Instead, it turned out the doctor's prediction was roughly 10 hours too early. Sure enough, during the patient's final two hours, nurses told Teno that Oscar joined the woman at her bedside.
Doctors say most of the people who get a visit from the sweet-faced, gray-and-white cat are so ill they probably don't know he's there, so patients aren't aware he's a harbinger of death. Most families are grateful for the advanced warning, although one wanted Oscar out of the room while a family member died. When Oscar is put outside, he paces and meows his displeasure.
No one's certain if Oscar's behavior is scientifically significant or points to a cause. Teno wonders if the cat notices telltale scents or reads something into the behavior of the nurses who raised him.
Nicholas Dodman, who directs an animal behavioral clinic at the Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and has read Dosa's article, said the only way to know is to carefully document how Oscar divides his time between the living and dying.
If Oscar really is a furry grim reaper, it's also possible his behavior could be driven by self-centered pleasures like a heated blanket placed on a dying person, Dodman said.
Nursing home staffers aren't concerned with explaining Oscar, so long as he gives families a better chance at saying goodbye to the dying.
Oscar recently received a wall plaque publicly commending his "compassionate hospice care."

Apparently she had been thrown out of her home by her daughter and grandsons who were tired of taking care of her.
The old woman, named Palaniappan, told the rescuers that her youngest daughter had argues with other family members on who would take care of her. Finally she enlisted the help of her sons to take their grandmother to the dump and leave her there.
Politicians were outraged over Palaniappan’s story and vowed they would ensure that action would be taken against the daughter.
“I have asked the collector (a local official) to take care of the old lady, and take legal action against the children,” said state Social Welfare Minister Poongothai.

Man catches a BLUE lobster
Carl Roper didn’t win the lottery, but he stumbled across something just as rare in the waters off .
As usual, the 66-year-old fisherman was working just off Kings Point, Victoria County, during the early-morning hours. But not as usual, he got quite the surprise when he realized he had caught a bright blue lobster in one of his traps. Mr. Roper said he was hauling up the string of traps and noticed something, well, a little different in the very last one.
"I hauled it up — it was only in about six feet of water — and just before I got to the boat I knew there was something strange in it," Mr. Roper said from his Ingonish home.
He said he has never come across anything quite like this colourful crustacean in his more than 50 years of fishing, although two years ago he caught a black lobster speckled with yellow dots. "I took him out and I looked at it for awhile," he said of how he reacted upon discovering his most recent unique catch. "I had a helper with me in the boat and showed it to him. "Then we took it where I sell my lobsters down at the other wharf. All the guys there, they’d never seen one like it before."
Mr. Roper said the aggressive male lobster, which weighs about a pound and is market size, undeniably sticks out like a sore thumb."It’s really blue," he said. "He’s blue from one end to the other."
Suddenly Famous
Mr. Roper said he became a bit of a star Saturday in the local fishing community. "You get a lot of attention down on the wharf with all the other fellas coming and checking it." He planned to donate the lobster to Fisheries and Oceans Canada, the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic in Lunenburg or another museum.
Mr. Roper’s daughter, Shauna Robbins, said her father is "pretty proud" of his finding and has been showing it off to his grandchildren in Ingonish. The kids named the oddball critter Grampy, after their grandfather. "They thought it was pretty neat," said Ms. Robbins, who lives in Kentville with her two young children.
Blue lobsters are considered about a one in a million occurrence, although some sources suggest they’re even less common than that. "You don’t normally get to see that," she said. "Especially when I went on the (Internet) and just Googled it and realized how rare it is. It’s like winning a Lotto ticket."
Another Strange Woman from India
We almost wanted to tell the monkey-lovin' Jacko about Namita Das, a woman living in India who not only adopted a pet monkey but also decided to raise it just like a human baby. That includes breastfeeding.
“Yes, I breastfeed him,” Namita told the BBC. “He is my son.”
According to the report, the woman and her husband found the monkey nearly dead beneath a tree following a bad storm. It had lost its parents, so Namita decided to take on the role of Mom.
Her daughters, Dipti and Tripiti, don’t seem to mind. There's apparently plenty of Namita milk for everybody and BBC said the girls treat little Buru as a sibling. “I did not have a son. God finally gave one,” Namita was quoted as saying.

China people can control pigeons.this is so mean.
This is why we should not drink..
A Zoo visitor sank his teeth into a panda after having a drunken tussle with the animal, it was revealed on Wednesday.
Zhan Xinyan downed four jugs of beer at a restaurant near the zoo before setting off to see the pandas.
While watching one of the creatures, named Gu Gu, he felt a sudden urge to give it a big hug and jumped over the wall into the enclosure.
But the panda, which was nodding off, became startled and sank its teeth into Mr Zhang's right leg. The 35-year-old got angry and kicked the panda, who then bit his other leg.
The pair then brawled around the enclosure until Mr Zhang bared his own fangs. 'I bit the fellow in the back,' he said, adding: 'Its skin was quite thick.'
Other tourists yelled for a zookeeper, who soon got the six-year-old panda under control by spraying it with water. Mr Zhang, from the central province of Henan, was taken to hospital and needed stitches in his legs.
After he sobered up he said: 'I have seen pandas on television before and they seemed to get along so well with people.
'No one ever said they would bite. I just wanted to touch it. I was so dizzy from the beer. I don't remember much.'
Ye Mingxia, a spokeswoman for Beijing Zoo, confirmed the incident had happened but would not give any details.
'Gu Gu does not appear to be in any pain from Mr Zhang's bite,' she said. 'We are not considering punishing the panda. He has suffered quite a bit of shock.'

Man who thought he was a Cat
Cat man rescued from treeWednesday, December 8, 2004
A MAN WHO believes he is a cat had to be rescued by firemen after getting stuck up a tree.
Children attempted to coax him down with a saucer of milk
Shoppers spotted the man mewing for help and called rescue services after he was still there more than an hour later in a village outside Milan.
Children attempted to coax him down with a saucer of milk, but the 46-year-old cat-man had to be carried down a ladder by firefighters, it was reported.
He was taken to hospital in Milan where he is undergoing psychiatric tests.
FAT CAT. look at it run up the stairs! hahah!
Meet Orange Thing -- OT to his friends.
The ginger moggie is the fattest cat ever recorded by Guinness World Records.
He weighted in at 40.9lb (18.6kg) by Guinness World Records before the body stopped recording animal weights in 1998 through fear their owners were purposely fattening them to unhealthy levels.
He is so over weight he has to stop to catch his breath at the top of the stairs, pretending his is just stopping to clean himself to save his dignity.
But he is not the fattest cat ever 'unofficially' recorded.
Last year a seven-year-old cat from Bournemouth called Honey tipped the scales at 19kg.
There have even been reports of a 38kg feline from Minnesota, USA.
Swiss eat puppies and kittens on pizza.
PUPPIES AND KITTENS are on the menu in some parts of Switzerland.
When a farmer's cat or dog has babies there are bound to be spare ones
While in most of Europe eating man's best friend is prohibited, the Swiss only bar the trade and distribution of its meat and meat products, not its private consumption.
An animal welfare group urged the government to close this legal loophole.
'Depending on personal preferences the dogs are stored in red salt or a herbal mix for two weeks and are then smoked in the house fireplace," said Norbert Guenster, manager of the Germany-based European Animal and Nature Protection Association.
'We think the Swiss government should protect dogs and cats and prohibit their consumption.'
Swiss animal welfare groups say it is hard to estimate how many pets land in Swiss frying pans each year but a law would not stop the longstanding tradition because what gets served for dinner in private homes is none of the state's business.
'When a farmer's cat or dog has babies there are bound to be spare ones,' said Rita Dubois at ProTier, a Zurich-based animal welfare organisation. 'The logic for the farmers is if they have to kill them anyway, they might as well eat them.' PUPPIES AND KITTENS are on the menu in some parts of Switzerland.
New Breed of Hairless Dogs.
A dog lover prevented from keeping pets by a hair allergy has been saved – after breeding five bald pooches.
These dogs have changed my life
Michael Daniels always wanted a dog of his own but broke out in a rash and suffered fits of sneezing if he went near anything furry.
After years of searching, he stumbled across the American hairless terrier.
Mr Daniels imported a dog and a bitch from the US and set about breeding pups for fellow allergy sufferers.
And the result is Britain's first litter of five hairless pups – four males and one female.
The 34-year-old, of Romford, Essex, said:'Living with allergies has restricted my choice of pets, but these dogs have changed my life.'
His bald initiative has worked – all five pups have been snapped up.

Hamster comes back to life after being COOKED
The pet, called Christmas, must have had a gnawing feeling something was wrong when his cage was left on top of an oven and the hob was turned on by mistake.
The cage burst into flames and Christmas became a furry fireball.
When firefighters arrived to put out the blaze, the rodent was lying on his back with his charred legs in the air and tongue hanging out.
Officer Mark Spinks, 36, admitted: 'We all looked at each other and said, “That hamster is a goner”.'
But when colleagues gave Christmas a blast of oxygen, a few nips of Ribena and rubbed his belly, they were amazed to see him splutter back to life.
The drama unfolded after owner Stacy Bell, 24, moved Christmas into the kitchen because he was keeping son Dylan, four, awake.
Christmas is now recovering but hamster, egg and chips is unlikely to return to the menu at the Bell household in Dagenham, Essex.
Mrs Bell said: 'I am pleased Christmas is OK. The firemen were brilliant.'
Zorse
Meet Eclyse – an animal that looks like it was assembled in one of those dodgy garages where they weld halves of two stolen cars together.
But Eclyse isn't the result of some crazed Doctor Dolittle with a god complex. It's a zorse – a zebra/horse hybrid, born on a ranch in Germany. And she's the product of a holiday romance.
While most zorses have stripes across their whole body, Eclyse only has two blocks of stripes – on her face and her rear.
The pure white areas she gets from her mother, a horse called Eclipse. Eclipse's owners sent her to a ranch in Italy for a while – where she met a rugged, handsome zebra called Ulysses.
One thing led to another – and when she got back home to Germany, Eclipse surprised her keepers by producing a little half-horse, half-zebra with highly unusual markings.
Ranch spokesman Udo Richter commented: 'You can tell she is a mix just by looking at her. But in temperament she can also exhibit characteristics from each parent.
'She is usually relatively tame like a horse but occasionally shows the fiery temperament of a zebra, leaping around like one.'

With his son and other relatives by his side, Phulram Chaudhary tied the knot with a dog on Saturday in Durgauli village in the southwestern Kailali district.
He was following a custom of his Tharu community which holds that an old man who regrows teeth must take a dog as a bride.
"He believed that this would help him avoid great misfortune later in life. However, he died a few days afterward," the state-run daily Gorkhapatra said.
Woman Marries Self
Woman marries herself
Singles frustrated with trying to find a spouse now have a solution, thanks to the new re-definitions of marriage. A woman in the Netherlands is getting married to herself. 30-year-old Jennifer Hoes has set the date for May 28. She has her wedding dress, her friends and family have their invitations, and the dinner will cost $22,000. The wedding itself will be in the city hall of Harleem. Apparently, in the anything-goes marriage laws of the Netherlands, the wedding will be legal.
She told Dutch and German newspapers that she will vow to "love, respect and honor" herself in good times and in bad. "We live in a 'Me' society," she said. "Hence it is logical that one promises to be faithful to oneself."
All of this leads UPI religion editor Uwe Siemon-Netto, who reported the story, to wonder:
This leaves of course a number of unanswered questions: Will she fall for the postmodern rage and adopt a double-barreled name -- Jennifer Hoes-Hoes, for example? And what if she ceases to like herself -- will divorce be an option, and which Hoes will get the car?
Indeed, what if she should fall in love with somebody else deeply enough towed him -- must she first send herself packing? In case she doesn't butstill says, "I do," to the guy, would this be considered an act of bigamy?Could she go to jail for that? "There's room for two rings on my finger,"she said.

Humans are animals too...but some animals are just strange
A Chinese man has married himself to express his "dissatisfaction with reality".
Liu Ye, 39, from Zhuhai city, married a life sized foam cut-out of himself wearing a woman's bridal dress.
"There are many reasons for marrying myself, but mainly to express my dissatisfaction with reality," he said.
"This marriage makes me whole again. My definition of marriage is different from others."
The ceremony was held at a traditional courtyard packed with more than 100 guests.
The 'couple' were led out by a bridesmaid and a groomsman and bowed to ancestors and senior guests for blessings.
Liu says he is not gay, but admits he's "maybe a bit narcissistic", reports New Express.

Woman Falls in Love with Snake and Marries It
A Seductive Snake?
Charmed Woman Marries Cobra in India
AFP
June 7, 2006 — A woman who fell in love with a snake has married the reptile at a traditional Hindu wedding celebrated by 2,000 guests in India's Orissa state, reports said last week.
Bimbala Das wore a silk saree for the ceremony Wednesday, May 31, at Atala village near the Orissa state capital Bhubaneswar.
Priests chanted mantras to seal the union, but the snake failed to come out of a nearby ant hill where it lives, the Press Trust of India said.
A brass replica snake stood in for the hesitant groom.
Though snakes cannot speak nor understand, we communicate in a peculiar way," Das, 30, told the agency.
"Whenever I put milk near the ant hill where the cobra lives, it always comes out to drink.
"I always get to see it every time I go near the ant hill. It has never harmed me," she added.
Villagers welcomed the wedding in the belief it would bring good fortune and laid on a feast for the big day.
Snakes and particularly the cobra are venerated in India as religious symbols worn by Lord Shiva, the god of destruction.
Das, from a lower caste, converted to the animal-loving vegetarian Vaishnav sect whose local elders gave her permission to marry the cobra.
"I am happy," said her mother Dyuti Bhoi, who has two other daughters and two sons to marry off.
"Bimbala was ill," Bhoi told local OTV channel. "We had no money to treat her. Then she started offering milk to the snake ... she was cured. That made her fall in love."
Das has moved into a hut built close to the ant hill since the wedding.
Earlier this year, a tribal girl was married off to a dog on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.
Girl Marries Dog?
Girl weds dog to break 'evil spell'
A nine-year-old tribal girl in eastern India has married a stray dog as part of a ritual to ward off an "evil spell" on her, Indian newspapers have reported.
The girl promised to "take care of the dog"The girl, Karnamoni Handsa, had to be married quickly because she had a tooth rooted to her upper gum, which is considered a bad omen by her Santhal tribe in the remote village of Khanyhan, about 60 kilometres (37 miles) from Calcutta.
"Members of the village jury asked us to get her married to a dog or to face the bad omen," the girl's father was quoted as saying by the AFP news agency.
The tribe elders said the marriage would not affect the girl's life, and that she would be free to marry again later and did not need to divorce the dog.
"It will not spoil her future. We will marry her off to eligible bachelor when she grows up," the girl's mother told AFP.
'No regret'
The wedding - which took place on 11 June - was attended by more than 100 guests, who danced to the beating of drums and drank home-made liquor.
"I have no regret in marrying the dog Bacchan. I am fond of the dog who moves around our locality," the girl told the AFP.
"Bacchan is a stray dog who survives on left-overs. I will take care of the dog," she added.
Indian newspapers reported that local police officials had ordered an inquiry into the incident.
The Santhals - most of whom are sharecroppers - are a large tribe living in the states of West Bengal and neighbouring Bihar and Jharkhand.
